HEP-database HELP

BROWSE command in the preprint-database search

Use the BROWSE (BRO) command with the following 'indexes' (search terms):
AUTHOR (A) TITLE (T) AFFILIATION (AF)
TOPIC (TP) DATE-ADDED (DADD) EXPERIMENT (EXP)
       REPORT-NUM (R) FIRST-AUTHOR (FA) EPRINT (BB,BULL)
CITATION (C) COLLABORATION (CN) VOL (PBN, SPICITE)
Expressions in parentheses are allowed abbreviations and variations.

The BROWSE command shows what kind of values can be used in a given search. For example, type

        BRO AF CALTECH or
        BROWSE TOPIC FIFTH
to see proper affiliations alphabetically surrounding the specified value (CALTECH), or to target values close to the stated topic (FIFTH). If the stated value is not found, the closest match and surrounding values are displayed.

Browsing can also help determine a correct spelling. Try, e.g.,

        BRO AUTHOR CZYZEW or
        BRO TITLE NONLEPTONIC
BROWSE can also be used to find journal's codens. For example:
        BROWSE CODEN Z. PHYS. or
        BRO CODEN INTERNATIONAL J.
will display the five-letter codens for the Zeitschrift fur Physik or the International Journal of Modern Physics. Use the codens in the citation searches (see the FIND help page). You can also find codens of some of the more popular journals in the table.

Return to the main HEP-database page, select help for the
FIND command (see also instructions for
searching by DATE index), or find help for the
SHOW command, or see instructions for
 displaying the result.
