Services: Reference/Literature Search

Reference books, including technical and bilingual dictionaries, atlases, encyclopedias, and abstract journals, are kept in the SLAC Library on permanent reference for the use of readers and for prompt answers to telephone inquiries. The reference staff can assist readers in the use of these materials and of various on-line search services. SLAC Library staff will answer reference questions from any user. Need to locate biographical data?, verify citations?, check spelling of words?, verify addresses and zip codes?, or have a more technical question?, just come to the circulation desk or phone the SLAC Library at x2411 or send e-mail libcirc@slac.stanford.edu.

An experienced librarian is always available to make a thorough literature search for specific information, or to compile a bibliography on a special subject.
