Help for the Conferences Search Form

The Conferences database contains past (since 1972) and forthcoming high energy physics conferences. It includes more than 4,700 listings for conferences, schools, and workshops related to elementary-particle physics. General meetings of large professional societies of interest to the high energy physics community are also listed.
Using this form is equivalent to entering a find title ... and find place ... and find date ... search in the SPIRES Conferences database.

Title

Enter any or all words from the title of the conference in any order. As described on the search page, truncated searches may be used. In addition, the search terms and not, and, and or may be used to tighten a search, e.g. microprocessors or automati# might yield 15 conferences, whereas microprocessors and not automati# might yield only 9 conferences.

Place

Enter the name of the place where the conference was held. This can be a town, city, country, state in the U.S., or the nearest large city, if the place is a small town or suburb. As described on the search page, truncated searches may be used. In addition, the search terms and not, and, and or may be used to tighten a search, e.g. geneva or switz# might yield 56 conferences, whereas geneva and not switz# might yield only 1 conference (in Lake Geneva, for instance).

Date

Enter the date on which the conference began. This can be a specific day, a month, a year, or a range of any of these. To enter a time range, use the search terms and, or, and not, before, and after, e.g. before September 10, 1995 and after September 10, 1975 will yield all conferences held between, but not including, those two dates.
