Particle Astrophysics

Last updated December 5, 1996

Group K is a particle astrophysics group at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC).The research activities of the group lie in the area of X-ray and gamma-ray astrophysics. Current projects involve collaboration on the Unconventional Stellar Aspect (USA) satellite experiment, analysis of the archival x-ray data from HEAO A-1 and BATSE data on gamma-ray bursts. For the longer term, there is an effort on a Gamma-ray Large Area Silicon Telescope (GLAST) that could lead to a follow-on space mission to the Energetic Gamma-ray Experiment Telescope ( EGRET).
