Butte on bioinformatics
Buried beneath today’s ever-growing mountain of genomic, proteomic and clinical data are hidden clues into the origins of disease, says Atul Butte, MD, PhD, assistant professor of medicine and pediatrics. Butte discusses how the field of bioinformatics is helping scientists and clinicians sift through this data to gain a better understanding of complex conditions and pinpoint connections between illnesses once considered distinct.
