Iran Welcomes Bolstering Economic Cooperation with Greece

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs Mehdi Safari said Wednesday that Tehran welcomes expansion of trade and economic cooperation with Greece.

"Greece can enjoy the same facilities that Iran provides to member countries of the European Union for investment," Safari said in a meeting with his Greek counterpart Miltiadis Varvitsiotis.

He added that Iran is interested in investment of Greek companies in the country and joint cooperation in Asia and in the Caspian Sea region.

Varvitsiotis said that the volume of trade and economic exchanges between the two countries is not balanced as Athens imports oil from Iran and called for bolstering bilateral cooperation.

According to the Islamic republic news agency, he demanded providing necessary facilities to Greece's exports to Iran.
