Hamas: Int'l Legitimacy Most Important Achievement of War

TEHRAN (FNA)- Representative of Hamas to Tehran said the unyielding stance of the Palestinians during the 22-day Israeli onslaught on Gaza has bestowed international legitimacy on the resistance movement, and described it as Palestinians' most significant achievement in the war with Israeli.

"The Zionist regime had said to its allies that if they give a 4 to 7-day political vantage (to the regime), Tel Aviv will conquer Gaza, but this didn't happen and the regime didn't have any achievements to the very 22nd day despite the absence of an Arab summit and UN resolution," Abu Osama Al-Moeti said in an international forum dubbed 'Gaza War; Reasons, Quality and the Results' on Monday.

Referring to the US defeat in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine, he said that the September 11 events in 2001 made different fronts and alliances more transparent for the world people.

Regarding the international financial crisis, Al-Moeti stressed, "This crisis is the result of the warmongering policies of Bush, and these developments and the Zionist regime's defeat in Lebanon have confronted the US and the Zionist regime's allies in the western world with a challenge and problem."
