TEHRAN (FNA)- An Israeli tank fire claimed the lives of at least six Palestinian fighters in the central Gaza Strip town of Deir al-Balah.
According to medics and witnesses, the Palestinians were killed in an exchange of fire with Israeli troops on Tuesday morning.
Elsewhere, four other Palestinians were also injured by an Israeli air raid in the northern Gaza town of Jabaliya.
Early Tuesday, Israeli tanks, backed by helicopter gunships, entered the city of Khan Yunis on the 11th day of the offensive, press tv reported.
Heavy fighting also erupted in the Shejaiya district of eastern Gaza City early Tuesday between Palestinian fighters and Israeli forces. Witnesses say that Israeli tanks are firing shells into the region.
So far, a total of 573 Palestinians have been killed and 2720 people wounded in Israeli gunship fire and plane bombings in the Gaza Strip.
