On September 27, 2007, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visited La Paz, Bolivia to meet his counterpart Evo Morales. In that opportunity they signed a program of cooperation worth US$1.1 billion.
On September 3, 2008, the Bolivian president visited Tehran in order to deepen his bilateral relations to accelerate the execution of projects in the fields of hydrocarbons and agriculture among others.
The projects of cooperation cover delivery of petroleum perforation equipment, refinery plants, the building of a cement factory, training of Bolivian personnel in the fields of agriculture, petrochemical and Refining Industry and fertilizers among others.
Iran's envoy to Bolivia said that " there is no limit of investment in Bolivia " and that everything will depend on the projects that they plan for the sake of the country.
With regard to the possibility of buying a media, Abbasi pointed out that it is a decision of the Iranian government, he didn't specify if there is interest to launch a tv channel in the department of Cochabamba.
"We are more interested in projects that improve the situation of both countries," he said.
On August 9, 2008, the Bolivian government with the support of Iran and Venezuela created the Public National Strategic company " Cement of Bolivia " with an investment of US$ 230 million for the implementation of two plants in Potos? and Oruro departments.
On August 13, 2008, Iranian Vic-President Mojtaba Samare Hashemi came to the country to express his support for Evo Morales and to implement economic agreements.
On September 3, 2008, Morales came Tehran and agreed with Ahmadinejad to accelerate the execution of the projects.
On October 10, 2008, Bolivian Health Minister Ramiro Tapia and Hojjatollah Soltani, chargé d'affaires of the Iranian Embassy in representation of the Red Crescent Society, signed an agreement of cooperation so that two hospitals will be built in Cochabamba and La Paz departments.
