Rutemoller Joins Iran's National Squad As Assistant Coach

TEHRAN (FNA)- German Erich Rutemoller has agreed to join Iran's national team as an assistant to head coach Ali Daei.

According to the Asian Football Confederation's homepage, Iran Football Association vice-president Mehdi Taj told the Islamic republic news agency that both sides have agreed on the terms and the Technical Director of the German Football Association would join the team before their next game.

The Former FC Koln and Hansa Rostock manager had met Iran FA President Ali Kafashian for the first time in July when he was in Tehran to conduct a module of the AFC Professional Coaching Course.

The former German assistant coach would be part of the team when Iran travel to Oman for a four-nation tournament, starting on December 16.

Iran will fly to Spain from Muscat for two more friendlies and will face China on January 9 in another warm-up before hosting Singapore on January 14 in their AFC Asian Cup 2011 qualifying round.
