TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran clinched three medals on the second day of the 3rd WTF World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Turkey.
The Iranian squad bagged one gold medal, one silver and one bronze at the ASKI Sport Hall on Wednesday.
A trio of Iranians, Hassan Zahedi, Ali Barzegari, and Ahmad Akhlaghi, won the gold medal in men's 2nd team category, participated by competitors aged over 36 years. The silver medal went to Turkey while the bronze is shared by Germany and Spain, press tv reported.
Iran's Hadi Torkashvand claimed silver in men's individual 2nd master division, with participants being over 51 years of age. Korea's Jae-yoon An snatched the gold medal while Pinga Pietro Cosimo of Italy and Jean Marie Bour of France shared the bronze.
In women's 1st senior division (19-30 years) Mahsa Mardani shared the bronze medal with Spain's Laura Kim. Korea's Yu-jin Kang received the gold medal, while Serim Olgun Bektasoglu from Turkey took the silver.
Iran's Milad Yaghobi also shared the bronze with Spain's Juan Miguel Gomez in men's individual junior division (14-18 years), as South Korea placed first followed by Turkey.
Hossein Ali Nazari shared the bronze medal with Turkey's Mustafa Yilmaz in men's individual 1st master division, participated by athletes between 41 and 50. Korean Hyung-Jun Noh earned the gold medal and Denmark's Ky-Tu Dinh Dang claimed the silver medal.
A total of 400 Taekwondo practitioners from 50 countries participated in the 3rd WTF World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships December 16-18 in Ankara.
