Larijani Blasts Arab States for Inciting Disunity among Muslims

TEHRAN (FNA)- Some Arab countries have incited disunity in the Islamic world and sowed discord among Muslims by taking different positions, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani lamented on Monday.

Speaking in a meeting with Oman's Ambassador to Tehran Yahya bin Abdullah bin Salem al-Fene al-Harimi, the Speaker called unsuccessful the efforts by some western countries to defeat Palestinian resistance in the 22-day Israeli war on Gaza, and stressed that it was the people of Gaza who eventually came victorious.

Elsewhere, he noted Tehran's bilateral ties with the Arab world, and reiterated close cooperation and dialogue between Iran and the Arab Persian Gulf countries.

The top legislator further underlined the need for enhanced proximity among Islamic and Arab countries when dealing with regional issues.

Al-Harimi, for his part, stated that Israel can never defeat the Palestinian resistance.

He also extended an invitation from Omani parliament speaker to Larijani to visit the country.
