Iran, Georgia Discuss Expansion of Ties

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Ambassador to Georgia Mojtaba Damirchi conferred with Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Nalbandov on expansion of bilateral relations and mutual cooperation.

The two sides stressed bolstering of all-out ties during the talks held at Iran's Embassy in Georgia on Friday.

The two officials also called for holding a meeting in February over cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries, the Islamic republic news agency reported today.

Earlier in October, Georgian Head of Iran-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group Nugzar Tsiklauri met with his Iranian counterpart Kazem Moussavi on the sidelines of the 16th International Conference of Central Asia and the Caucasus and explored avenues for bolstering relations in all fields.

Moussavi said that Iranian and Georgian nations enjoy deep-rooted bonds and expressed willingness of Iranian officials to expand all-out ties with Georgia.
