Iranian Official Urges Israeli Pullout from Gaza

TEHRAN (FNA)- Israel should withdraw from Gaza Strip and cannot remain in the area any more, a senior advisor to the Iranian president said.

Speaking in a meeting with the heads of Iranian foundations in Japan on Friday, Mojtaba Hashemi Samareh elaborated on Iran's foreign policy, and reiterated Tehran's support for the oppressed Palestinian people.

He pointed to Israel's use of US-manufactured hi-tech weapons, including phosphorous bombs, against Gaza people, and said that the Zionist regime was defeated in war against Palestinian nation's resistance.

He also noted Iran's resistance against world powers, and highlighted Tehran's pivotal role in global developments.

The Iranian presidential aide arrived in Tokyo on Thursday on a 3-day trip to deliver Ahmadinejad's message on Gaza to the Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso.
