TEHRAN (FNA)- Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa commended Iranian defense capabilities and its significant achievements in the sector.
Visiting an exhibition at Iran's Defense Ministry in Tehran on Saturday, Correa underscored that Tehran has successfully made major and remarkable advances in defense and military capabilities.
He made the comment in a meeting with Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, the Islamic republic news agency reported.
The Ecuadorian president also sought an expansion of defense, technical and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian defense minister termed the visit of the Ecuadorian delegation to Iran as a turning point in Quito-Tehran relations.
Najjar pointed out that the Iran is prepared to put its defense know-how at Ecuador's disposal. He also noted that constructive and positive talks on expansion of defense cooperation had been held between the two sides.
Correa and his accompanying delegation arrived in Tehran Friday evening.
