TEHRAN (FNA)- The third edition of the Police Film Festival will be held from December 9 to 12 at the Felestin Cinema and Iranian Artists Forum, secretary of the festival Alireza Sajjadpur told a press conference on Monday.
He went on to say that two workshops on "Documentary Cinema and social Problems" and "Film scrip and social problems" will be held on the sidelines of the festival.
"The festival has been warmly received by Iranian filmmakers and it is my hope that it become as important as the Fajr Film Festival in near future," he mentioned.
He went on to say that entered films focus primarily on social problems and are not merely reruns of police manhunts. This fact has motivated cineastes to take part in the festival, MNA reported.
Some 260 films in the different categories that include documentary, short film, TV series and feature films are competing in the festival.
The winners will be awarded during a ceremony on December 7 at the Vahdat Hall before inauguration of the festival.
