TEHRAN (FNA)- Foreign orchestras and ensembles will perform various classical pieces at the 24th edition of Fajr International Music Festival, the secretariat of the festival announced in a press release on Monday.
Dutch violinist Johannes Leertouwer will perform selections of baroque music at the festival and the Chamber Orchestra of Mozart from Austria will perform pieces composed by Mozart.
The festival will also host Storioni, an ensemble from the Netherlands, which will perform some musical compositions for violin and piano from Romantic era, MNA reported.
The Italian orchestra the Secret Theater will focus on the Second Viennese School and they will perform some works composed by Arnold Schoenberg.
Resonabilis ensemble from Estonia will perform folk music on the Kannel, a string instrument found from the Baltic countries to Finland under various names and forms. It resembles to some extent the German Zither or the Turkish kanun.
Tarhana band with members from Bulgaria, Spain, Turkey and Romania will perform traditional folk pieces from different cultures of the countries.
The foreign groups will perform at Tehran's Vahdat Hall and Rudaki Hall during the festival which will be held from December 9 to 16.
