TEHRAN (FNA)- The third edition of the Fajr Poetry Festival will dedicate a section to post-Islamic Revolution poetry and the effect of the Islamic Revolution on Persian literature, secretary of the festival said.
Secretary of festival Fazel Nazari told MNA on Sunday that achievements in the field of poetry research, the Islamic Revolution's role in promoting literature during past 30 years and also the characteristics of poems composed will be highlighted during the festival.
In addition, several veteran poets will be honored at the event, he added.
He went on to say that poetry collections by young Iranian poets will be also be reviewed during the event and a section of the festival will be dedicated to children's poetry.
A section of the event is dedicated to poems composed by Iranian poets from different provinces and various forms of poetry are reviewed during the gala, he mentioned.
"Persian poems composed by non-Iranian poets from other countries and non-Persian poems will compete in the International Section of the festival," he added.
The annual festival is usually held in January, but since January 2008 coincides with the mourning month of Muharram, the gala has been moved forward to March.
