MP Slams Saudi, Egyptian Positions on Gaza

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian lawmaker denounced that Saudi Arabian and Egyptian positions on Gaza issue was not acceptable.

"The positions of Saudi Arabia and Egypt concerning the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza is very bad and not acceptable," Boroujerdi said.

Hailing the resistance of Islamic Hamas movement in Gaza, the Iranian lawmaker denounced Israel for its "utmost artlessness" with the most modern weaponry.

He considered Israel will be the loser, saying that "the reason is the Zionist regime displayed its weakness and its artlessness by committing crime against the innocents and children there."

In a statement released on Tuesday, Iran's Ministry of Defense denounced the Israeli use of chemical weapons in Gaza, saying "the Zionist regime" were firing white phosphorus into Gaza and "on the basis of the Geneva Protocol 1925, using the poisonous gases is forbidden."

Since the Israeli offensive on Gaza began on Dec. 27, 2008, Iran has uninterruptedly condemned the "Zionist regime's crimes on Gazans" and has incessantly called on the Arab states to break the silence in favor of Gazans.

More than 1070 people in the impoverished Gaza Strip have been killed and some 5,000 others wounded since the launch of the Israeli raid on December 27.
