Ahmadinejad Urges Saudi King to Speak up on Gaza

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad urged Saudi Arabia's king to break his "silence" over Israel's Gaza offensive that has killed more than 1,000 Palestinians.

"Break your silence over the massacre of your children in Gaza," Ahmadinejad said in a rare message to Abdullah.

Ahmadinejad also urged Abdullah to clearly announce his stance on this crisis to "demolish hopes" of those seeking to forge a rift among Islamic countries.

Arab nations have been at odds how to deal with the Gaza conflict.

The kingdom is hosting a meeting Thursday on Gaza of Persian Gulf countries.
