Iran, Tajikistan Stress Implementation of Defense Deal
TEHRAN (FNA)-Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in a meeting with Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mostafa Mohammad Najjar called for expanding all-out cooperation with Iran.
He also voiced satisfaction on mutual defense ties and described the relations as friendly ones rooted in religious and cultural commonalities.
According to the Iranian student news agency, Najjar, for his part, said mutual defense cooperation plays a crucial factor in creation of stability and security in the region.
He also said the two sides will do their best to confront insecurity affected by foreign interference in the region.
The two sides discussed current plans for Tajik army self-sufficiency and underlined implementation of bilateral defense agreements as soon as possible.
Rahmon who arrived in Tehran Thursday has met with Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and called for employment of all potentialities, capabilities and experiences of the two countries to promote ties in various spheres.
The two states are willing to boost relations on water, electricity, dam-building, road and railway building, industry, mine, free trade zones and joint investment.
