TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian capital of Damascus is set to host an Iranian cultural week in a bid to introduce Persian traditions and cultural heritage.

The event, to be held by Iran's cultural office in Syria, will include a book fair and an exhibition of photographs, handicrafts, Qur'anic arts and visual artworks.

Visitors will become familiar with Persian calligraphy, illustration, painting, illumination, marquetry, pottery and woodwork, press tv reported.

The event will also include traditional Iranian music performances, film screenings and a seminar on Iran's cultural heritage.

The Iranian cultural week in Damascus will kick off on Dec. 20, 2008 at Syria's National Museum.
