British-Iranian Troupe to Stage "Cherry Orchard" at Fajr Festival

TEHRAN (FNA)- Aleksandar Sasha Dundjerovic in collaboration with Atila Pesyani will stage Anton Chekhov's "Cherry Orchard" at the 27th Fajr Theater Festival this year.

Britain-based Aleksandar Dundjerovic is a senior lecturer in theater performance at the University of Manchester. The book "Theatricality of Robert Lepage" is among his many credits, MNA said citing a report by the Persian service of the Iranian students news agency.

"Bazi" troupe members including Atila and Setareh Pesyani, Sahar Dolatshahi and Naz Shademan along with the British members are rehearsing to stage the play at the international section of the festival.

Afterwards, the play will go on stage in Britain in the spring. The "Cherry Orchard" will probably have a few performances in Tehran.

Dundjerovic was a jury member at the previous edition of Fajr theater festival.

Actor and director Pesyani and his troupe "Bazi" will also begin the rehearsing for the teleplay "The Dead Man's Dream." It is due to air on Channel 4 of the national TV.
