Welcome to the First Amendment Center’s new resource center for issues
related to religion and religious liberty in public schools.
The page you will see at http://www.religionpublicschools.org is a new “gateway” to all of the resources at the
First Amendment Center concerning religious liberty in public schools. Our aim
is to provide objective, accurate information for educators, students, school
board members and parents about the place of religion in public schools under
the First Amendment.
We make every effort to give nonpartisan, balanced guidance that has broad
support from many religious, educational and civil liberties organizations.
We want to hear from you. Send me
your questions and comments about issues in your school district, additional
resources you would like to see on this site, or anything else that interests
you about religion in public schools.
Today the site features “Beyond
the school wars: What every public school can do to avoid conflicts over
religion and find common ground,” a report based on the proceedings of a
conference held at the First Amendment Center in Nashville. Check it out and
send me your feedback.
