1st Book on Iranian Cinema Published in Beirut

TEHRAN (FNA)- History and Challenges of Iran's Cinema were recently published in Beirut concurrent with the selection of the Lebanese city as the world's book capital in 2009 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).



The book was written by Fatemeh Parchagani, and released by the Center for Development of Islam's Civilized Thought, the Islamic republic news agency reported.

The 255-page book is the first work dealing with Iran's cinema in Arabic language.

Iran's cinema and pantomime, Iranian films in the past decades, women cineastes, documentary cinema and cinematic festivals are among the topic.
