TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian athletes grabbed two bronze medals at the 3rd WTF World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships currently held in Ankara, Turkey.
Iran's Milad Yaghobi won the bronze in the men's individual junior division (between 14-18 years), with 8.40 points. South Korea came first in the group with 8.62 while Turkey took the silver with 8.41 points. The bronze was shared by the Iranian athlete and Spain's Juan Miguel Gomez who got 8.35 points.
According to press tv, Hossein Ali Nazari, bagged the second bronze for the Iranian squad with 8.50 points in the men's individual 1st master division (between 41 and 50 years). Korean Hyung-Jun Noh earned the gold medal in the class with 8.75 points. Denmark's Ky-Tu Dinh Dang took the silver with 8.67. The Iranian national shared the bronze medal with Turkey's Mustafa Yilmaz who got 8.50 points.
In the women's individual junior category, Iran's female athlete Bahareh Ghaderian came sixth with 8.22 points. South Korea's Hye-Rim Park won the gold medal, while Germany's Cyra Renee De Rama took the silver. The bronze went to Vietnam's Nguyen Minh Tu and Chinese Taipei's Lee Ying-Hsian.
A total of 400 Taekwondo practitioners from 50 countries have taken part in the 3rd WTF World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships at the ASKI Sport Hall December 16-18.
