Artists from Iran and around the globe will stage their plays during the annual festival to be held from Jan. 21 to 30, 2009 at Tehran's City Theater Complex and other theater halls in the Iranian capital.
According to press tv, Iran's Atila Pesyani and UK's Aleksandar Sasha Dundjerovic will stage their joint production Cherry Orchard based on a play of the same name by Russian playwright Anton Chekhov.
The event will also hold a 'Theater in Islamic Countries' conference, which will be attended by international theater experts from Sudan, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Malaysia, Turkey and the US.
