Minister Highlights Flexibility of Iranian Defense Industry

TEHRNA (FNA)- Iranian Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said on Monday that his ministry is seeking to make the country's defense industries flexible and agile through forming small cells within a massive network.

"The Defense Ministry is making the country's defense industry agile and flexible by forming small cells within a massive network in a bid to provide an effective and all-out support for the (Iranian) armed forces," Najjar said, speaking in a gathering of Iranian army elites.

He underlined that the Iranian army is an honorable, powerful and effective force and acts like a strong dam against any potential aggression and threat.

Najjar stressed that the Iranian armed forces has moved towards intelligent defense, and pointed to skillfulness, speed, flexibility, creativity, intelligence, innovation and rapid reaction as among specifications of intelligent defense.

"Intelligent defense needs technological innovation to powerfully support defenders of the country's borders in the air, in the sea and on land."

The Iranian defense minister also described equipping armed forces with fifth generation weapons and equipment as the main and basic mission of his ministry.

Iran has always announced that defensive power, which mostly relies on domestic capabilities, serves as an element of deterrence.
