Iran, Pakistan to Boost Defense Ties

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad and Pakistani Air Force Commander stressed increasing cooperation between the two states in the field of defense.

The Iranian Envoy Mashallah Shakeri in a meeting with General Qamar Soleyman in Islamabad expressed dissatisfaction at the level of defensive cooperation between Iran and Pakistan, and urged both countries to boost ties and cooperation in the field.

Meantime, he described overall relations between the two countries as "excellent", and stressed that Iran desires an integrated and powerful Pakistan.

Soleyman, for his part, called for more defensive cooperation between the two countries, and said Iran's progress in different aspects of defense affairs is admirable.

He stressed that bilateral defense ties serve both countries' security and interests, and said cooperation between the two countries' air forces would lead to the strengthening of other aspects of ties between Tehran and Islamabad.
