Iran Terms Withdrawal of Aliens Only Way to Restore Peace in Region

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safari reiterated that the only way to restore peace in the region is the withdrawal of foreign troops.

Speaking in a meeting with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ivaylo Kalfin in Sofia on Tuesday, Safari pointed out that the solution to problems is not the use of force.

Safari also held a meeting with Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Radion Popov in which he stressed using the two countries' potentials on energy, railway, opening new airlines and transportation.

He and the Bulgarian diplomat also reviewed the joint efforts and close cooperation of Tehran and Sofia to fight drug trafficking.

At the meeting, the Bulgarian top diplomat stressed Iran's important role in solving regional problems and his deputy announced his country's readiness to cooperate with Iran in all fields.

Popov also urged more cooperation with Iran in the gas and energy sector.
