Iran to Inject 2 bcf of Natural Gas to Aghajari Oil Field

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran aims to inject two billion cubic feet of natural gas per day to Aghajari oil field southeast of Iran to increase the production of crude oil by 130,000 barrels a day.

Addressing an inauguration ceremony on Monday to mark the gas injection project, Iranian Oil Minister Gholam Hossein Nozari reiterated that Iran's goal of the project is preservation of the country's oil reserves.

He pointed out that the project is the most major in the Middle East, noting the Aghajari gas injection project is one of the best ways of making a maximum use of oil reserves.

The Aghajari oilfield is situated some 125 kilometers from Khuzestan's capital city of Ahvaz.
