The Pakistani ISI has assigned retired military officers to top administrative posts in the country's tribal areas since former Pakistani President Parvez Musharraf ascended to power, a source who asked to remain anonymous told FNA.
The ISI pretends to be standing against the Taliban, but it is actually cooperating with the tribal terrorists by rejecting Shiites' requests for stopping the massacres, he added.
The move is apparently a bid to show the US that there will be no security in Pakistan without ISI's help and that the US military attacks on the Taliban and Pakistan's soil are useless and futile.
According to the source, the intelligence service has organized several clashes in different parts of Pakistan.
The ISI has sown discord and caused clashes between the Wahabites and the Shiites in the Shiite-residing areas. It has also created rift among Sunni factions in other regions, the source said.
In other areas like SWAT valley, it has caused clashes between the Pakistani government and the Taliban, he added.
This is while the Pakistani army cooperates with the US military to hit the Taliban's safe heaven in SWAT valley.
