War amputee Siah Mansaray Former Liberian President Charles Taylor Testifies at His War Crimes Trial

For the first time, former Liberian President Charles Taylor took the stand in his war crimes trial at The Hague.  He told the court he had little first-hand knowledge of events inside neighboring Sierra Leone. VOA's Laurel Bowman has that story.

Key to the accusations against Charles Taylor are allegations he used so-called conflict diamonds to support rebels in Sierra Leone. Human rights advocate John Prendergast of the Enough Project recently returned from the region and offers an assessment. Co-host Ndimyake Mwakalyelye has more.
