Fifth Group of Post-Election Detainees to Go on Trial Tomorrow

TEHRAN (FNA)- The fifth court hearing of those detained during Iran's post-election unrests will be held in Tehran on Monday.

Officials said that the fifth session, similar to the previous hearings, will be open to the public. All detainees who are due to stand trial tomorrow are charged with acting against the country's national security through a velvet coup.

The hearing is due to be held in branch 15 of Tehran's revolutionary court in the presence of the mass media at 9:00 am Monday.

A number of rioters and political activists will stand trial in the tomorrow's court session.

The culprits put to trail in a series of hearing sessions are categorized in three groups, namely the "plotters, intriguers, and planners of the riots", "the antagonists and those affiliated to foreign services", and "the opportunists, hooligans, and hoodlums who set ablaze, or destroyed private and public properties, and those that have had a hand in disturbing public security".
