Finance Minister Underlines Economic Overhaul Plan

TEHRAN (FNA)- Finance and Economy Minister Shamseddin Hosseini said after getting parliament vote of confidence for a new term in office that the economic overhaul plan is the greatest economic undertaking of the next government.

Talking to reporters, he noted that for years, Iran's economy is experiencing sanctions and the country has suffered many foreign political onslaughts.

"The programs presented have been approved by the Iranian elites and this is a great asset for the government and we can build the country with their help," he said, the Islamic republic news agency reported.

In response to a question what the government will do with the economic overhaul plan, the main challenge facing it, he said there is no challenge. Challenge comes to the fore when there is disagreement on an issue.

"There is no difference on implementing the plan," he noted.

Asked about lopping off three zeroes from Iran's currency, the minister said that it can be fulfilled when the plan to put an end to the subsidies is implemented.
