Iranian Companies to Make Tenders in Iraqi Oil Projects
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iraq's Deputy Oil Minister Abdul Karim Lu'aibi said on Friday that Iran's national oil company along with other drilling companies will be invited to Iraq's oil tenders.
"Much to our regret, the Iranian companies are not actively present in running projects in Iraq but we have called the Iranian companies to declare their terms of contract and programs and submit them in order to have an active present in Iraqi's tenders," Lu'aibi told reporters.
In a strong possibility the lack of presence of Iranian companies has roots in rampant insecurity in Iraq, he said.
On expansion of cooperation between Iran and Iraq on oil projects, he said the Americans will not make any interference in Iraq's domestic issues, the Islamic republic news agency reported.
According to the rules and regulations of the UN and its resolutions, Iraq is regarded as an independent state and can make decision on its own affairs, he said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on expansion of oil and gas projects in Iraq.
