The announcement was made during a meeting between Iranian Ambassador to Doha Abdullah Sohrabi and Head of Qatar's Marine Customs Department Mohammad Ahmad Al-Mohandi.
At the meeting, Sohrabi referred to the good relations between the two countries, and underlined the resolve of senior Iranian and Qatari officials to develop and expand business and trade relations.
He also hailed the Qatari officials' proper attention to the Iranian sailors and motorized boat owners.
"Given the existence of sea borders between Iran and Qatar, the ports of the two countries are the main and vital arteries for tourist trips, and specially for the travel of businessmen, sailors and motorized boat owners and the import and export of Iranian goods," Sohrabi reiterated.
He also expressed hope that the two sides' high-ranking officials would stage their firm political will for the further expansion of ties between the two countries and nations.
For his part, Al-Mohandi, who also heads the Doha port, expressed pleasure in the good political ties between Tehran and Doha, and stressed the growing trend of commercial and trade relations between the two sides.
