The project highlights the lives, character and literary activities of Persian modern poets and classic luminaries in a 15-part TV series.
Each episode of the TV series is dedicated to one Persian luminary and is directed by a different director. The whole project is headed by veteran Iranian documentarians Manouchehr Moshiri, Piruz Kalantari and Mehrdad Oskuii, Tehran Times reported.
"Ferdowsi" (directed by Shahruz Tavakkol), "Sadi" (Pejman Mazaheri), "Sohrab Sepehri" (Loqman Khaledi), "Shahriar" (Khatereh Hanachi), "Parvin Etesami" (Mohsen Sakha), "Ali Akbar Dehkhoda" (Sadeq Jafari), "Mohammad-Taqi Bahar" (Mehdi Baqeri) and "Nima Yushij" (Alaa Mohseni) are being filmed now.
Farahnaz Sharifi is directing two parts of the series on Iranian poets "Mehdi Akhavan Salis" and "Khajeh Abdollah Ansari" which is shooting in Herat, Afghanistan.
Other parts of the project, "Khayyam" (Saeid Tarazi), "Hafez" (Pejman Habibian), "Rumi" (Sahar Salahshur), "Allameh Qazvini" (Majid Asheqi) and "Avicenna" (Shahram Mokri") are nearly completed.
The shooting of the TV series began on October 6, 2008 and is planned to be completed by mid January.
