Australians Hold Iranian Film Festival

TEHRAN (FNA)- Western Australia celebrates Persian New Year with an Iranian short film festival presenting 19 films and traditional music performances.

The Iranian cultural festival has as its goal an attempt to offer an innovative image of the rich Iranian culture, Nowruz and contemporary Iranian cinema, all in one package, press tv said.

Nowruz marks the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere and is the start of the Iranian New Year on March 21st.

The Iranian cultural festival is to be held March 20, 25 and 26 by the Kulcha Multicultural Arts Organization of Western Australia in Perth.

Organized by the Iranian Short Film Association, the festival will present short films made by Iranian directors along with traditional music to be performed by the Perth Ensemble Kimeya.

Western Australia's city life is enriched with the culture of those who have immigrated to the largest state in Australia.
