Austria Keen to Invest in Iran

TEHRAN (FNA)- Austria announced its preparedness to invest in Iran due to the country's ample natural and mineral resources and economic opportunities.

Speaking in a meeting here in Tehran on Tuesday with Iran's Deputy Economy Minister Behrouz Alishiri, Head of the Austrian parliament's Defense Commission Peter Fischten Baer stressed the development of economic and trade relations between the two countries.

"Iran is a powerful and great country and Austria attaches much importance to the expansion of economic and trade relations and cooperation with this friendly country," Baer reiterated.

He also stressed that Austria pursues a non-conservative policy on Iran which has been based on the improvement of trade and economic relations.

Baer expressed the hope that by bolstering the bilateral economic ties, the two nations would witness further progress in their bilateral relations.

Alishiri, who is also head of the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI), referred to the advantages of investment in Iran, including the ample natural and mineral resources and the high rate of the capital return, and described it as a good atmosphere for hi-tech investments.
