Speaking in a meeting with visiting Head of the Austria's National Council Defense Commission Peter Fitschen Bauer, Larijani also urged for the expansion of economic, political and parliamentary ties with Austria.
Elsewhere, he blasted certain western countries' double-standard policies in fighting terrorism.
Bauer, for his part, termed Iran an influential country of the region and stressed the need for the expansion of bilateral ties with Tehran.
He also referred to Afghanistan's issue, and said the country should employ the capabilities of Iran as a necessary and strategic measure in a bid to attain peace and security.
