Iranian VP Felicitates Japan's New Premier

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi on Monday extended his congratulations to Yukio Hatoyama on his ascending to power as Japan's Prime Minister, and called for the further expansion and deepening of good ties between the two countries.



"I extend my sincere felicitations on your appointment as the new Japanese prime minister to you as well as the government and great nation of Japan," Rahimi said in his message.

He also expressed the hope that joint cooperation by Iranian and Japanese officials and utilization of the two countries' potentials would lead to the deepening and expansion of good ties between the two states and in the interest of the establishment of stability and security in the region and the world.

To conclude his message, Rahimi wished health and success for Hatoyama and honor and welfare for the Japanese government and nation.
