Iran's Soccer Team to Play Syria, Vietnam, China

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's national soccer team will play respectively against Syria, Vietnam and China on May 23, 29 and June 1 during 2010 World Cup qualifiers.



Iran will continue the competitions with its sensitive match against North Korea on June 6 and starts its camp for North Korea match from May 9.

Iran's newly-installed manager Afshin Qotbi has already called for all Iranians to help the national soccer team qualify for the 2010 World Cup, the Iranian students news agency reported.

"No one doubt that our players are well able to play in the World Cup", Qotbi said.

Iran appeared in1978, 1998 and 2006 World Cups and achieved the best results in France 98, when it beat the United States (2-1).
