Malaysia Favors Further Expansion of Ties with Iran

TEHRAN (FNA)- Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry Miustapa Mohamed said Thursday his country is willing to foster trade and economic cooperation with Iran.

Mohamed made the remarks on the sidelines of the International Trade Malaysia 2009 (Intrade Malaysia) Exhibition.

The minister was quoted by the Islamic republic news agency as saying that Iran would be Malaysia's good trade partner in the Middle East region.

He further called for greater efforts to promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Major Iranian exports to Malaysia include oil and its products, he added.
