President: Human Perfection Impossible Without Divine, Monotheistic Belief

TEHRAN (FNA)- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Friday that mankind will not attain perfection unless through divine and monotheistic ideology.

"Mankind will not reach perfection without divine and monotheistic ideology. Prophets fulfilled the same mission and today, the perfect man, though being invisible to our eyes, is present," said President Ahmadinejad in an address to the closing ceremony of the International Avicenna Festival.

He said the root cause of mankind's calamities throughout history has been his materialistic attitude towards man and the world.

According to the Islamic republic news agency, the president said the World War I and World War II had been the result of the materialists' wrong attitude.

Certain people's materialistic approach towards the world and their ignorance of spirituality, morals, worshiping and unity resulted in murder, massacre and homelessness of tens of million people and demolition of thousands of cities, regretted the president.

On the other hand, said the president, liberalism, founded on materialism, freed man from real captivity, while taking him away of the truth of universe and existence.

"They (liberalists) deprived man from the resolve for perfection, love, passion, justice, spirituality and morals and tightened the heaviest type of shackle around his leg, saying him "you are free!"" added the president.

What is everlasting is that left by the scholars, intellectuals and scientists who viewed man and the world with the monotheistic and divine angle, he concluded.
