CEO of Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Investment Company said by gaining membership in the UNWTO, the company seeks more interactions at international levels.
"Membership in UNWTO is a significant opportunity to access the latest studies on global tourism approaches," press tv quoted Mehdi Jahangiri as saying.
"UNWTO plays an important role in sustainable growth of the tourism industry and helps in the field of information exchange. Iran will make the most of this opportunity," he added.
Four other members from Iran are already in the World Tourism Organization. But the members were affiliated to the government.
This is the first company from Iran's private sector to become a member of UNWTO.
