Head Pubic Relations at Tehran Education Organization announced on that Sunday the capital's number of confirmed swine flu cases has increased by more than 5.
"The increasing number of students in state schools is alarming for Tehran authorities working to take effective measures in controlling the virus's spread," the Iranian students news agency quoted Ali Soleimani as saying.
Soleimani believes the severity of the symptoms is more typical of seasonal flu.
"However, even with a mild flu, we need to remain vigilant to prevent illness and watch for infections," he cautioned.
The H1N1 influenza virus, which originated in Mexico, can be prevented by maintaining strength in one's immune system by making healthy food choices, drinking enough water, and washing hands several times during the day.
