The event will screen Iran's With Setareh Till Dawn, Two Cups of Coffee, A Picture of a Dream, Come on, Everybody is Asleep, Dance of Love, The Empty Fish Bowl, In An Iranian Market, Life, War and Nothing More, Redroot Pigweed, Sound of Soil and The Last Image of a Memory.
"Iran today makes some of the best cinema in the world and uses movies as an interface between the country and the rest of the world outside," secretary general of the South Asia Foundation Rahul Barua told IANS on Monday.
Barua also refereed to the large number of female filmmakers in Iran, saying that they make "quality movies and the Iranian authorities are helping them with financial, logistical and technical support."
Hosted by the South Asia Foundation, the 4th edition of the South Asian Film Festival will be held from June 26 to 29, screening classical, short and documentary films from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, Afghanistan and Bhutan on the theme of Dissolving Boundaries.
