Iranian Film to Be Showcased at South Asian Fest

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's "The Last Queen of the Earth" is to get a special showcase at South Asian Film Festival in India.

The four-day festival kicked off on Friday in Goa Island will also host a number of short films made by young Iranian directors.

"The Last Queen of the Earth" narrates the story of a young Afghan man working in Iran. He has not heard anything from his family for a long time and becomes more worried after he finds about September 11th attack and the US raid over Afghanistan. He then chooses to return home, but he experiences hard days.

The film has already clinched two prizes at Iran's Fajr International Film Festival for best director, the Iranian students news agency reported.

It was also nominee for best director, best filming and top actor prizes at Ashland Independent Film Festival.

The Iranian movie directed by Mohammad Reza Arab has already been shown at Montreal, Cairo, Singapore, Japan, Mumbai, Boston and Brooklyn film festivals.
