Commander Terms Iran Invincible Power in Region

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Tuesday underlined Iran's stability and power, and said the country plays a key role in resolving regional problems.

"Iran is a great power in the Middle East and no problem can be solved in its absence," IRGC Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami said, describing Iran as an invincible power which may not be defeated by any power.

Reminding the achievements made by Iran during the past three decades since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Salami stated, "The post-revolution Iran is a wise, smart and powerful country with management power in handling regional crises, which is considered as the center of regional stability."

The commander reminded the country's power and said Iran could achieve the peaceful nuclear technology despite all the sanctions imposed on the county and is now moving on the brilliant path of self-sufficiency.

Despite the rules enshrined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) entitling every member state, including Iran, to the right of uranium enrichment, Tehran is now under three rounds of UN Security Council sanctions for turning down West's illegitimate calls to give up its right of uranium enrichment.

Iran insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only and has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population, whose fossil fuel would eventually run dry.

Salami further reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran won't lay a red carpet for any alien, meaning that it would strongly fight back any hostile move by a foreign country.

He dismissed the enemies' illusion about Iran's weakness, and reiterated, "Despite imaginations of many enemies, Iran is strong, strenuous and invincible."
